Cook Your Own Rice

A/N: Because of that one moment in OFD Castaway where Jisoo didn’t know how to cook rice in a pot because he assumed everyone had a rice cooker

Warnings: Nothing too serious, just some cursing and some teasing~~

Jisoo and Jeonghan never fight, about anything. They were known as the perfect (or most dysfunctional, depending on who you ask) couple in Hogwarts; the calm, caramel haired Ravenclaw prefect and the sly, platinum blonde Slytherin prince.

Mingyu still doesn’t completely understand how Jisoo deals with Jeonghan.

“We’re a lot more similar than you think Gyu,” He answers simply. “I’m not that innocent,” he laughs, motioning for Mingyu to hurry up so they won’t be late for their classes.

“He’s a scheming snake,” Mingyu grumbles, and Jisoo tuts at him, glancing at the Gryffindor disapprovingly.

They never fight.

Until one summer afternoon, when Jisoo visits Jeonghan’s sprawling mansion.

“You don’t have a rice cooker?”

Jeonghan whirls in surprise, snickering when he sees at how dramatically shocked he looks; lips in a perfect O, with his hand pressed to his chest. Jisoo scans the Yoon’s immaculate kitchen again, an affronted noise leaving his pretty lips when he comes away without said rice cooker.

“We have house elves, Ji, why would we need some muggle machine to cook us rice?” he laughs, and Jisoo scoffs, shaking his head.

“No you don’t understand– wait then how do you cook rice?” he asks, utterly baffled.

Jeonghan shrugs. He’s never been interested in cooking, but he does know the elves cook rice in the silver pot on the counter. Jisoo looks even more scandalized when he points to the pot, staring at it like it’s committed high treason.

“C’mon jagi, you’re being silly, the elves do it. What does it matter?” Jeonghan coaxes, tugging Jisoo into his arms. “Besides, I would rather show you other parts of the house, like my room,” the Slytherin hums against Jisoo’s nape. He melts instantly, leaning into Jeonghan, silently asking for more.

Jisoo giggles softly, letting his boyfriend tug him up the marble staircase. It feels so illicit, going up to Jeonghan’s childhood room to well- Jisoo’s not sure what (but he hopes it’s what he thinks it is).

“Nervous, love?” Jeonghan coos, grinning when Jisoo blushes lightly. “Nothing to worry about, no one’s ever home.”

Jisoo’s barely shut Jeonghan’s bedroom door when he’s pressed against it, eager lips slotted his own, slim fingers wrapping around his waist. Jeonghan groans when he feels Jisoo respond, heat pooling low in his belly.

It’s been so long since they’ve been able to take their time with each other. Their respective groups of friends had no concept of privacy, and Jeonghan can feel himself growing harder at the thought of not having to limit themselves to a quick bathroom fuck, or hushed kisses in the Astronomy tower after hours.

Life, however, seemed to think otherwise.

“Young Master Yoon – Oh!”

Fuck.

Jisoo gasps, shoving Jeonghan away in surprise. The Slytherin stumbles, nearly faceplanting onto his house elf. Twinkle yelps, jumping out of the way, apologies falling quickly from her lips.

“Young Master, Twinkle is so very so sorry, she did not know Young Master had a guest, Twinkle wanted to clean.”

Jeonghan groans quietly, adjusting himself in his pants. He glances at Jisoo, small smile playing on his lips when he sees how adorably mortified his boyfriend looks.

“It’s fine Twinkle. This is my boyfriend Jisoo,” he introduces, and Jisoo squeaks. “C’mon love, she doesn’t bite,” he laughs, wrapping a comforting arm around his favourite Ravenclaw.

“It’s- It’s fine, I was just shocked, that’s all,” Jisoo chokes out, still looking somewhat (read: very) flustered. Jeonghan’s about to dismiss Twinkle when Jisoo opens his pretty little mouth, and asks a single question.

“Twinkle, why do you not use a rice cooker?”

What. In. Salazar.

“Ji... did you seriously ask a house elf why a wizarding family doesn’t use a muggle contraption?” he asks slowly, and Jisoo shrugs nonchalantly.

“I mean... we use electricity, and bathrooms, those are all muggle-invented things, why not a rice cooker?” he grins impishly, and Jeonghan throws a pillow at his boyfriend, praying to Salazar himself that his genius-yet-stupid boyfriend would just stop with the rice cooker already.

“Ji, love, darling, just drop it, please for the love of Merlin just drop it,” he groans, flopping onto the silk sheets.

Jisoo laughs, settling gently on the bed, pressing a loving kiss to Jeonghan’s still swollen lips.

“Alright, alright I won’t push,” he soothes. Twinkle disappears with a snap of her wrinkled fingers, and Jeonghan tugs Jisoo down for a searing kiss.

(Twinkle ensures no one interrupts the couple, although the paintings are more than disturbed when they hear Jisoo’s cries echoing in the hallways.)

Two months later, Jeonghan receives a package from his boyfriend. He figures it’s an early birthday present, since his beloved is away visiting family in America.

The gift is large and boxy, and Jeonghan picks up the card delicately, grinning when his favourite scent (Jisoo’s cologne) wafts off the ivory paper.

Angel,

I’m sorry I can’t celebrate your birthday with you this year.

I love you dearly, and I can’t wait to see you next week.

I hope you enjoy my gift to you ;)

Jeonghan snorts with laughter, shaking his head when he unwraps the box. True enough, it’s a shiny, new, muggle, rice cooker. He should have known his boyfriend wouldn’t give up that easily.

When he tries it, he’s surprised at how easy it is to use, although he’d die before admitting it to his already smug boyfriend. He instructs Twinkle to use it only when Jisoo isn’t around, just so he can possibly salvage some of his pride.

(Jisoo already knows, he just lets Jeonghan believe he can keep up his charade. It’s cute, and Jisoo’s a sucker for all things cute.)

lee ahn // harry potter verse notes.

his backstory remains the same -- his parents die in a fire , he gets rescued by an older resident in the apartment building , and he gains his powers after the whole incident occurs. for hp verse purposes , this takes place in london rather than in seoul , but ahn remains korean ( and is bilingual in both english and korean ).

sungmo , the older resident that saved him , leaves him at the orphanage after they healed and stayed together for a while , and ahn is just starting to make his reputation in his area as a demon who you shouldn’t touch or he’d beat you up when he receives his hogwarts’ letter and mcgonagall comes by to deliver it ( as he is a muggleborn student ).

he actually asks mcgonagall about his powers and if he has them because he has magic , but this ability has never been really seen in the wizarding world before , so that’s right out. mcgonagall is the only one he tells in the wizarding world about his ability ( although , mcgonagall might tell some of the other professors ).

he’s sorted into hufflepuff ( based on loyalty ) , and ahn continues to wear oversized hoodies underneath his hogwarts uniform in an attempt to minimise the skin-to-skin contact he might come across. he also slacks off at hogwarts , doesn’t really go to classes , and doesn’t really turn in work. any punishment sort of slides off his back.

it turns out sungmo is also a part of the magical world and works as a prosecutor in both the muggle and magical world , which they find out when sungmo comes back to take guardianship of ahn when ahn is thirteen. even with sungmo , though , ahn still slacks off in class.

he does ( somehow ) manage to graduate ( barely ) , and he ends up somewhat being a consultant with the aurors thanks to jisoo ( a coworker that has a crush on sungmo and who he considers to be an older sister figure ). however , his powers don’t work as well as he wants them to , and then he meets jaein ( someone in the cold case division ) , and the two of them start working together and she helps him train his powers.

like in the show , sungmo ends up in jail for causing the fire that killed ahn’s parents ( and so many other deaths ) and jisoo ends up dying to sungmo’s father. ahn’s powers have grown enough that he is consulting with different divisions of magical law enforcement , and jaein is working as an auror.

ok so this i was watching harry potter last night with my roommate and got a little inspired so have some harry potter au soulmate vmin stuff!

ok so, i’m going by namjoon’s sorting of the members which means taehyung is a hufflepuff and jimin is in slytherin. and in this au soulmates are connected by the red string of fate but it doesn’t happen all at once. soulmates are usually naturally drawn to each other throughout their lives and once they start hitting puberty they start being able to see their string. it starts off as a sort of hazy red glow looped around the pinkie of their dominant hand and as they get older and grow closer to their soulmate, the thread becomes more and more visible, extending further and further from their pinkie until they can finally see the thread around their soulmate’s finger.

taehyung and jimin first meet when they are on the train to hogwarts for the first time. jimin is from a long line of pure blooded wizards and he’s been raised with magic his whole life, whereas taehyung is 100% muggleborn and has grown up on his grandparent’s farm his whole life but they always knew there was something strange about taehyung due to his ability to change his features at will (and sometimes when he didn’t will it) metamorphmagus taehyung is life

they sit next to each other on the train and talk animatedly the whole ride to hogwarts, mostly taehyung asking questions rapidfire and jimin answering them happily.

after the sorting ceremony when they’ve been sorted into their separate houses they don’t speak much apart from a passing smile or greeting in the hallway.

it’s not until their third year, the year when people begin to be able to see their red strings, that taehyung and jimin really meet again. taehyung has kept his somewhat shy exterior but he’s made a few good friends, namely jung hoseok a fellow hufflepuff. jimin however became popular rapidly, only increasing when he joined the quidditch team in his second year as keeper.

jimin is the first one to be able to see the hazy little red glow and it happens on the first day of spring. he’s not really paying attention to where he’s going, too caught up in his conversation with his friend jeongguk to notice the boy walking towards them with his head buried in the monster book of monsters.

they bump into each other and taehyung’s book goes flying, growling as it hits the floor and immediately latching onto jimin’s foot who hollers at the sudden pain. taehyung is a blushing mess, hair a blushing pink with embarrassment and apologizing profusely as he coaxes the book off jimin’s foot and locks it.

jimin’s eyes follow him down the hallway, blinking in surprise as taehyung’s flushed face remains imprinted in his mind before jeongguk is nudging his shoulder and laughing at him for being attacked ‘by a book!! seokjin hyung is gonna love this!’

it’s only when he’s back in his dorm and digging around in his own textbooks so he can finally get started on the paper due in potions the next day when he notices the red haze around his right pinkie.

another year go by after that before they meet again. taehyung still hasn’t seen even a glimpse of red around his left pinkie and jimin’s thread remains a hazy blur that hasn’t changed since that first day.

they meet because jimin is failing potions. he has to keep all of his grades up to be allowed to play in quidditch matches so professor slughorn assigns him a tutor; one of the brightest potions students he’s seen in his entire career, kim taehyung.

the first few sessions are a little awkward with taehyung being too shy to look jimin in the eyes and jimin not knowing how to break the ice. eventually though taehyung recognizes jimin from the first time they ever met and hesitantly brings it up, thanking jimin for being so kind to him when he was suddenly thrown into such a confusing world. jimin lights up at the memory and from there on the sessions get easier and they become close friends.

that summer they keep in contact via owl (jimin’s personal owl as taehyung had opted for a cat companion. it’s a white grey norwegian forest cat named yeontan that likes to curl up in his lap while he studies) and taehyung’s first letter to jimin is an excited recount of how he could finally see the beginnings of his thread around his pinkie the day jimin’s owl arrived.

in fifth year they’re closer than ever. taehyung has managed to worm his way into jimin’s closest group of friends (bts) and they spend most afternoons together whether it’s taehyung watching jimin at quidditch practice, studying together, or sneaking into the green houses because taehyung loves to play with the flobberworms (their mucus is a common ingredient for potions).

jimin’s thread begins to grow more clear and he can now see about two feet of it, trailing from his pinkie and vanishing into thin air. taehyung’s is clear as well but he can only see the beginnings of it trailing off his finger.

in the greenhouse one day, when jimin is watching taehyung muse about the fanged geraniums and he finds himself thinking that the sunlight streaming through the rain graced glass haloing around his best friend is the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen, his pinkie throbs and he looks down to see the red string taught for the first time, the vanished end pointing straight at taehyung. that’s when he starts to realize.

it’s not until their sixth year that taehyung realizes too. it’s during a mixed potions class, hufflepuff and gryffindor sharing the class and they’re learning how to make amorentia for the first time. his partner jisoo isn’t very good at potions but taehyung is happy to take over, excited to think of what he may smell when the potion is finished.

when the potion finally fades from muddled black to a vibrant pink taehyung knows it’s perfect and leans over to inhale deeply. it smells like the freshly tilled earth of his grandmother’s farm and the forest around it. it smells like freshly steeped chai and the greenhouse by the west wing. it smells like fleetwood’s high-finish broom handle polish and the orange blossom scented hand lotion jimin carries with him everywhere.

they get in their first fight one month after that. jimin’s been busy with an important quidditch match coming up and taehyung get’s fed up with being ignored and snapped at. he yells at jimin for being a jerk and jimin yells at taehyung for being annoying and needy. they both say things they don’t mean and in the end it’s taehyung who storms away from jimin, hair fading from an angry red to hurt a hurt blue-grey as tears sting his eyes. they don’t speak for two weeks.

the big quidditch match comes and halfway through it screams begin to erupt as dementors appear above the field and the stands. the quiddich pitch is a mess of players and students running in panic and jimin is screaming for taehyung, fear rushing through him as he can’t spot the familiar colorful hair anywhere since it had disappeared up in the hufflepuff stands when the panic first arose.

something tugs his hand and jimin looks down, not processing anything except the harsh tugging of the vibrant red thread around his finger. jimin shoves his way through the crowd, eyes locked on the thread pulled taught until he’s crashing into someone, arms shooting out to balance them and keep them together as panic surges around them.

taehyung sobs in relief and clings to jimin’s chest, pressing as close to him as he can get, one hand fisted in his quidditch robes and the other clutching tightly to the very visible red thread that connects their fingers. it’s not exactly the best moment but jimin cups taehyung’s cheeks and kisses him long and hard, unable to speak through the joy and relief that thrums in his veins before he links their hands together, his right to taehyung’s left with their red string tangled between their fingers and they run with the crowd to the safety of the castle.

( two weeks into first year, you give up trying. a pureblood jeers at the pencil in your hand, and mother sends three packets more. ) hugs just a bit too tight, rumpled hair and a booming laugh. cheeks alight with glee, and eyes blazing ever bright. the war may go on, but so do you. ┊ if you’re looking for EDWARD ‘TED’ TONKS, you’ll probably find HIM in the HUFFLEPUFF dorm with the rest of the SEVENTH years. they’re the TWENTY ONE year old MUGGLEBORN who looks kind of like KIM JISOO. they seem AFFABLE, STEADFAST, BOISTEROUS to me, but apparently they’re also FICKLE, NAIVE, FACETIOUS. maybe that’s why their patronus is A BEAR. Descriptions of the girls Sofia- part veela/ half blood girl that is 5'3 with wavy dark brown hair and moderately tan skin. She has big brown eyes and wear glasses most of the time except for the occasional time for contacts. Absolutely despises sports. She is very smart, quick witted, and perceptive with the tone of sarcasm. She comes off as arrogant and conceited, but once you know her she’s caring, playful, and protective. She puts herself under the conceited shield because she has quite the hard time trusting, but will be honest and blunt.

Paulina has blue eyes and medium length blonde hair that is more often than not in a braid or two. She's quite shy at first but becomes super social. Optimistic even in the dark times and she's naive and oblivious so unfortunately people take advantage of her. She's quickly warmed up to due to her sweetness and optimistic personality.

Phoebe-shook bean about 5'3 as well. She is full blood but very sweet. Don’t underestimate this girl though because if you mess with her or the ones she loves yikes to you. She wears glasses and has mid length brown hair with hazel eyes.

-Emily-best friends with Kris although she’s in the ravenclaw house they’ve been friends since they were little both being pure blood. Ginger hair, blue eyes, and about 5'4. Sweet girl who knows how to put Kris in his place.

Rebecca- half blood from her mothers side who had been in the auror and her father teaches muggle history. Her personality is outgoing, funny, social, hardworking, and she loves to study. Rebeacca has had an insane interest in potions and care of magical creatures, wanting to travel the world to research potions and animals once she leaves hogwarts. She’s very kindhearted and she somehow hides a pigmy that followers her e v e r y w h e r e. Rebecca has bright blue eyes and long light brown hair. Her height is 5'5 and she’s just an ordinary wizard who is just a social butterfly who is happy even if she’s loses a quidditch match and will always help other study if asked. She’s usually the advice giver in ravenclaw and always congratulates other houses on their wins. She’s best friends with suho and is definitely the matchmaker. Lowkey hates fighting but will throw shade and loves to bake.

Giselle-4'9.5. Shoulder length dark brown hair, brown eyes lightly tan skin and lightly skinny. Muggleborn witch

Devynn-muggleborn and proud if it. 5'4 with long slightly wavy copper hair that compliments her green-gray eyes with irises that more often then not look glazed over. Suffers from RBF, but when she smiled her whole face becomes a Christmas tree. Demure, blushy, giggly, intuitive, sensitive, and perceptive. Shuts down fake people’s intentions real quick. Silly chili dish mom friend that is also quick witted and clever. People pleaser, but will NOT allow anyone to bash on her blood status. Loves herbology and potions. Literal tree hugger tbh. Wants to be on the quidditch team but poor girl is scared of heights so she settles for watching the games. Interests lie in different cultures and traveling. Has a fluffy orange cat named whiskers that goes on adventures with Devynn e v e r y w h e r e. At the games? There’s whiskers. In potions? There’s whiskers. Is 1/8 Veela with a complicated history.

>Charlie-naturally cute but can be a total badass. This girl has got freckles, blonde hair, hazel eyes and you bet she’s a half blood.

Chiara- fair skinned, 5'2, shoulder length golden brown hair with expressive eyes, and independent half blood. Don’t get me wrong this girl is the actual representation of sweet and salty. She will defend her friends but will not hesitate to roast anyone who annoys her. Open minded badass who ain’t afraid to speak her mind. Her eyes reflect how she is-strong and independent- deep brown with flecks of golf throughout the irises. Guilty pleasure singing is her passion but only her friends know because her parents want her part of the ministry. Top student because of her parents expectations. Comes off snobbish but is actually super sweet and besties with DO. Adores desserts and enjoys charms class. Over being a beater in quidditch as her escape.

Haley-shy bean please protect her. Strawberrry blonde hair and bright hazel eyes, kinda ditzy and muggle born.

Brooklyn- red hair and brown eyes. Very smart but can be problematic because this girl knows how smart she is. She loves being right and hates to admit she’s wrong. This pure blood comes off a bit bitchy but she will not hesitate to stand up for her friends.
